Charges

The Asotin County District Court has jurisdiction over misdemeanor (max penalty is 90 days of jail & $1,000 fine) and gross misdemeanor (max penalty is one year of jail & $5,000 fine) crimes.

The most common criminal charges include domestic violence (DV), assault, and theft. Criminal traffic charges like Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUI) and Driving While License Suspended (DWLS) are also filed with this Court.

Court Date

Hearing dates are set in accordance with the District Court’s schedule.

The District Court Clerk’s Office cannot reschedule or continue your hearing date. You must contact the appropriate Prosecutors Office:

Failure to Appear in Court

If you are scheduled to appear in court and fail to do so, the Judge is authorized to issue a bench warrant which will make you subject to arrest.

Mailing Address Changes

Notify the District Court Clerk’s Office immediately if your mailing address changes.
