GRAND MARSHALS

Dick & Charlene Spooner
Dick and Charlene have been involved with the Asotin County Fair since the
1960’s when their children Linda, Russell & Alisa were in 4-H & FFA.
Dick and Charlene
have lived in Asotin County for 60+ years. When their children were young,
Charlene was a Brownie leader and also involved in Campfire.
Dick served as president of the Fair Board from 1994 to 1996. During his
term, the water system was updated, the Fair Board office was expanded and
remodeled and the start of the Bennett Building.
They also enjoyed
the Asotin Trail Rides to Joseph Rodeo from 1993 to 2001.
They had two granddaughters in royalty for the fair. Several grandchildren
have shown horses, beef, hogs, rabbits and sheep.
Dick has called
for the Twin City Twirlers Square Dance Club for 45
years. The club has had the Red Barn Booth for 20 years at the Fair. They
cook breakfast for the FFA and 4-H judging Friday morning and the weekend
rodeo – all for a good time.
They have three
children, ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
They feel it a privilege and honor to be chosen as Grand Marshals for the
2011 Asotin County Fair and Rodeo.
